Double fisting

Coffee. What did people do before coffee?Walk around with puffy bleary eyes until noon? Maybe they slept until noon? Yesterday hubby was stranded in bed with the latest strain of goo that's going around so it was up to me to run the morning meeting. Which was o.k. since I had to fiddle around with the new workstation at the shop anyway, and I had my Kohl's coupon, and LL bucks safely tucked in my purse.
Of course, I did not get up on schedule and today I needed to be on my toes so it was definitely a two or three cup day ahead of me!
Alarm clocks freak DH out so we don't use them. He is usually our alarm clock if the dog doesn't sleep inside. Polar wakes us up promptly at 6:30 every morning when the first car goes by- doesn't want to miss anything- you know... But, the dog was out and hubby was broken. So I did not have time to drink my coffee before I left.
Now it's not that I am addicted to coffee. I don't drink it when we are on some vacations and business trips, and sometimes I just take a break because I have ramped up to so much of it I lay awake staring out the skylight all night... I just love coffee. Especially in New England. There is rarely a day that a warm drink doesn't sound perfect! We have been enjoying Kona coffee we got while touring a coffee plantation in Hawaii this week. Chocolate macadamia nut coffee. Sounds like dessert and tastes like it too! One of the few that has better coffee than Dunkin Donuts!
I made a pot of coffee before hopping in the shower. By the time I ran around and collected all of my paperwork I was five minutes late heading out the door and I had had no coffee yet. Not one drop. (gasp!) So I did what any level headed coffee lover would do. I got out two travel mugs and filled them to the brim. One for the ride and one for the meeting. I felt pretty clever as I zipped down the mountain drinking having the warm brew that filled the air with the smell of chocolate and coffee drain from my travel mug all the way down :)> Then to go in to the meeting with a fresh one was just right! I buzzed through my shopping trip, too!

Though not a coffee addict (does anyone admit they are, I wonder?), I do enjoy my daily morning cup...or two.

I first tried Kona coffee as an 18yo kid on a trip to Hawaii with my parents. I was too young then to appreciate brew, but I do remember being aware of the specialty of that coffee. Years later when I took up the coffee habit, I began ordering it each time we went to Denny's. That was their regularly served cofee for many years. Alas, that's no longer the case, and Kona is so expensive to buy. It is worth the special treat on occasion, though.

Do you grind your own beans?

Coffee- oh how I love thee! I agree that in New England hardly a day goes by when a cup of tea or coffee doesn't sound like the PERFECT drink! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love reading your comments.

You're probably right that I wouldn't admit if I were addicted because that would mean I might have to give it up!! LOL!
The Kona coffee is definitely a big treat. It was my souvenier from our once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii. We got beans on the recommendation of our tour guide, so I dug out my coffee grinder I bought in college.

I think I could kill someone if I didn't get my coffee in the morning. I like to try different flavors of coffee. The one that my daughter loves the most is hazel nut creamer in her coffee, I tried it but I can't use it at all. It's not a matter of like of dislike, it make me terribly ill. The minute it hits my stomach it want to do a U-turn. But I'm game to try other flavors, but at night I have turned to drinking green tea. I love it as an evening relaxation drink, but it's very difficult to find a good brand. There is a combination Quava and mixed teas that is delicious but kind of expensive. I have to order it specially. Which I don't do often because my family wants to have it every night when I buy it.

Ohhhhhhhhhh! I just looooooooooooove coffee! I love the smell, the taste, the feel of coffee warming you up on a cool day!!! The only problem is that coffee has an adverse effect on me. It knocks me out cold in less than five minutes flat! That's right! Coffee puts me to sleep! No coffee for me when I'm behind the wheel!
