I only remember one Christmas when I pre-unwrapped a gift. I was about five and opened a tiny treadle Singer sewing machine, which really worked. I was so excited, but I'm sure you can imagine I didn't rewrap it with the same elegance with which my mom had first wrapped it.

My brother and I always played "find the Christmas presents" anytime our folks left the house in the days leading up to Christmas. My mom, bless her heart, was either terribly naive, or she simply thought she had angels for children, because finding the gifts was usually only as difficult as walking into her bedroom and opening the closet door! ;-Þ

When I had kids, I was much more skilled at how to hide things. The problem was, I'd sometimes forget about them until AFTER Christmas! ;-)Rennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03628198694622790891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1979990287740534607.post-64947617700048231152008-12-12T11:51:00.000-05:002008-12-12T11:51:00.000-05:00i am just happy that i am off this year for christ...i am just happy that i am off this year for christmas both eve and day yay!! first time in years i won't be out of town working...we put our tree up as soon as we can after thanks giving and the lights on the tree are white to go with the decorations that are red and white with a big red bow topper =)Life Of An Emthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16280671706873025347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1979990287740534607.post-38480140758443002392008-12-11T21:46:00.000-05:002008-12-11T21:46:00.000-05:00We too are having a quiet Christmas at home..just ...We too are having a quiet Christmas at home..just the two of us. By carefully, I mean we would pain-stakingly tear way the tape and carefully unfold the paper so as not to crease it, and then re-allign the tape exactly, so no would know. My mom didn't know about it until we were adults though. Another memory is as I got older, my mom would have me wrap the presents. One year I wrapped a nice sheet set, and then on Christmas when we opened presents I found out they were for me. I vowed to never wrap presents for my mom again, since she went so far as to have me wrap my own present.

DebAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
